This is absolutely beautiful.

I have some difficulties applying the patch..
I've followed the How-To step by step, but when I hit Apply Patch, nothing happens.
I'm running Windows XP SP3 btw.

When you do that there will be a NEW rom created named Heargold_Patched.nds or Soulsilver_Patched.nds

Use that one.

Edit: Can you please make it in the translations so that the pokemon names are not in all caps? This is a great improvement over the normal games.
So instead of a wild pokemon being called BELLSPROUT it just says Bellsprout.

when i try to patch xenophobia (J) soul silver, nothing happens... and when i search for a patch it only shows one patch, does this single patch work for both SS and HG

Yes, I found out after I uploaded the patch that it is compatible with HG + SS So yeah!

I understand that, but i do not understand why it will not patch... how do you know if it has been patched, will the file name change or something

Question for all those who've played. This is a modded Japanese rom (lets be straight, the patch is really just a big language mod).

Have any of you tried to trade with an english version of the game (legit or on a working card)? I vaguely remember there being a problem when two different languages of Pokemon tried to trade. I was just wondering if that was still the case.

i can trade form my offical platinum to my SS and HG with this patch

Since the FR Version has the same AP it's safe to assume that all EU Version use the same AP as the US Version.
I'd do it for the german version but I have no idea how to.

There's no new rom.
I've got three different files: .patch (wtf?), xDelta GUI.exe and xdelta.exe

Sounds suspicious since you joined yesterday and the japanese version of hg/ss had a menu translation done by Raqib12 and Rykin.
Sounds to me like you're impersonating him. That could get you banned. Otherwise, great way to work around the ap.

Rykin or I are not involved with this at all.

Even for a poser, he's doing a pretty good job with the patch, so, props for that.

Yeah I know. That's the problem.
There's no new rom.
I've got three different files: .patch (wtf?), xDelta GUI.exe and xdelta.exe

Okay, follow my easy to understand steps:

1- Download the Japanese rom from romulation (Heartgold or Soulsiver)

2- Put the three different files you just listed and the rom you just downloaded together in one folder.

3- Open xDelta Gui.exe (Ignore the other xdelta)

4- Where it says "CHOOSE PATCH", choose the file called ".patch"

5- Where it says "CHOOSE ROM", choose the Heartgold or soulsilver rom

6- Click apply patch

7- Wait a bit (within a minute unless you have a really slow computer) and you'll see a new file named "Heartgold_patched.nds" or "Soulsilver_patched.nds" You definitely should.
