A bit of a cut & paste affair this week, apart from the Wii games which I haven't done an October thread for. A lot of dates have changed and for those looking forward to Exit, its out in November now <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/frown.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="frown.gif" />

There have been a couple of games added though in the Europe section, and they're ones that should've come out last month. Damn publishers.

Read to know when a game could be dumped:
These dates are what retailers say is out unless stated otherwise, sometimes they make dates up for pre-ordering purposes. These dates could also be "shipping dates" which usually means that that's the date when games get shipped to stores so a game could either be in stores on that day or after. Some games may get delayed some others not listed may appear but at the moment of posting these are correct. Also just because a game is released in stores it doesn't mean that they'll appear on our internets but NA titles usually appear on our 'nets Wednesday night UK time. I love you with stealth.

Finally a localisation of Bleach DS 2nd: Kokui Hirameku Requiem.

Bleach: Dark Souls on the Nintendo DS brings an exclusive storyline, expanded cast of playable characters and fast multi-plane fighting action for up to four players via Wi-Fi. Players will also build a power-packed Spirit Card Deck and collect power crystals to augment their spirit card powers on the lower screen and dish out moves that will directly affect their opponent's gameplay. With a burgeoning cast of 44 characters including the ability to play as Hollows, players can spend hours experiencing furious fighting gameplay and unlocking personal character stories all based on the series' story arc.

The first was a very good fighter, not tried the Japanese version of this one though.

A very long awaited sequel to a game that was released into the arcades 20 years ago (which has aged badly). I finished the Japanese release and loved it.

The thrilling ninja action of The Legend of Kage 2 takes over both Nintendo DS screens, fully utilizing the dual-screen presentation and scrolling to draw players into a dynamic world filled with exhilarating mid-air combat. With rich, elaborate stages and a compelling story that follows the tale of two protagonists, The Legend of Kage 2 breathes renewed excitement into the classic action adventure experience.

Its nothing new but anyone who loves arcade games will love it.

This game was featured on the very first release thread I did back in early 2007, and its finally coming out!

This is for people who loved Katamari Damashi, and want more fun, silly puzzle action. The premise is simple: You're a little dog with a big appetite. His goal is to be the biggest dog ever, and he'll achieve that by eating everything in a level - from small meals to big buildings.

The Japanese release played alright, nothing amazing but there is fun to be had from this game. This was meant to be released last week in Europe and then was push back again...come on Koei, just release the damn game.

I take it the first game sold enough for a sequel, shame.

Spectrobes: Beyond The Portals for Nintendo DS continues the story of Rallen and Jeena, interplanetary patrol officers who discover, excavate, awaken and train mysterious fossilized creatures known as Spectrobes and then use them to battle enemies. The story surrounds the origins of mysterious portals that lead to distant dimensions.

I fount the first game to be incredibly tedious with the bland gameplay, sound & graphics can't say I care about this but I know the first has its fans.

No media for this tile, should we be worried? All I know that this time it'll be a side-scroller 3D models instead of last years 3D title, which is a shame as that looked real nice despite the gameplay getting a bit tedious after a while. The touch screen is used for mini games (can developers stop putting mini games in please?) and the game itself with be platformer with puzzle elements. There is some guff about mutants and that but come on can we just have an old fashioned Crash game like we had on the PSX?

Not a game. Based on the design concept of the MS-10 synthesiser. Which basically means it should be pretty comprehensive.

Known as the KORG DS-10 (musical instrument producers KORG provide the sounds) the software includes two duel-oscillator analog synth simulators, a four-part drum machine and a 6 track/16 step sequencer. Probably most excitingly though in terms of musical possibilities is that several units can be linked and played wirelessly. It's also promised you'll be able to exchange sounds and songs over wi-fi.

Only had a little time on the Japanese version but I did like what I saw.

Remember Top Gear Downforce? This is the very same game and I've been waiting for it for since 2006 until I fount out that it was released in Japan as Simple DS Series: Volume 13: Ijoukishou wo Tsuppashire! The Arashi no Drift Rall.

So its a top down racer and its ok at best. There are 30 vehicles & diverse track themes including races in jungles, deserts, polar caps, canyons, coastlines, islands, ruins, and modern-day sprawling cities.

Controls are great but some people can get use to them. Its no Racing Gears but its ok. This game is always getting pushed back so don't be suprised if it doesn't get released this week.

Yet another DS racer that was meant for last month now out this week...maybe.

I hope that this is a good racer but two things make me think that it won't. 1. Its being released at £11.99 and 2. Midas Entertainment release crap games, but hey lets be optimistic here, the game does feature online wi-fi mode (something most bigger games don't even bother having) and seeing as we probably won't get Wipeout it'll have to do for weapon based future racing. If its bad then I guess back I go to Speed Racer.

Some places are saying that this comes out in November but Telltales own site says 7th October so I'm gonna go with them.

Team up with Sam & Max, self-styled Freelance Police with their own brand of justice. Uncover clues, interrogate suspects, crack six bizarre cases, and find out why Sam & Max has been praised as the funniest game in years.

I did like the PC episodes, and all 6 from season one are here. Sure it wasn't as good as the original LucasArts adventure and the odd episode wasn't that funny but I enjoyed the series anyway. Fans of point & clicky games (including Telltales own excellent Strong Bad games) should be able to enjoy this title.

Who elses thinks that this should be a WiiWare title?

Line Rider allows players to construct their own track filled with as many ramps, hills, and jumps as they can imagine utilizing a pencil tool. Once the player is done creating their course, they can send a virtual sledder down the route until he wipes out.

Like the DS version there will be a story mode which has many levels already drawn where you have to fill in gaps and so on. Maybe not worth £34 but its should still be a lot of fun to play.

I quadripled check to see that this is a Wii game and not DS.

Cid the Dummy makes his debut in this action/platformer that features this total original who's filled with charisma and attack power (are they shitting us?). Based around the multiple opportunities for a Crash Impact Dummy to get into mischief, the game blends classic platform elements (you mean generic?) such as timed jumps, collecting pick-ups, defeating enemies, and challenging boss battles with more cerebral elements such as puzzles, clever weapon use and route finding (you mean padding?).

Could be fun but doubt it.

Region North America Genre: Basketball
Developer: EA Canada Publisher: Electronic Arts

The Wii needs a good basketball game BADLY. The last NBA Live title was piss poor at best, could this be an improvement?

NBA Live 09 All-Play offers more action, more often, with an over-the-top basketball experience designed with everyone in mind. Improved responsiveness and more control options make this game easier and more fun to play than ever before.

Every moment is an opportunity for a highlight reel play with more excitement on both sides of the ball. With exaggerated, arcade players, you can track the abilities of your line-up at a glance. Blow by a defender with a faster, smaller player, or hold your own in the paint with a big player who can dominate with size. With controls that cater to all levels, everyone can experience success and compete on a level playing field. Use the EA SPORTS All-Play controls as a feature to aid player movement, freeing you up to concentrate on passing, shooting, blocking and stealing. Turn the Wii Remote horizontally and select Classic Controls, which harkens back to Nintendo consoles of the past, or use the Nunchuk and Wii Remote together for an in depth control scheme featuring the all-new Point and Pass system. Get off the couch and into the action. You got next with NBA Live 09 All-Play.

I wish they would ditch this "All-Play" stuff. Four players can take on four other players online and apparently doing so is simple. There are also Women players from the WNBA but none of them are hot. It sounds like everything has been improved with this title and there will be a lot more options, I just hope its a good game of basketball. They should bring back NBA Jam.

The last very good Crash game was Crash Bandicoot XS 2, the last DS time was decent but got tedious after a bit and for me wasn't a proper Crash game, will this revitalise the series?

In Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant, a rejuvenated Neo Cortex is taking over the world one brain at a time! Cortex and N. Brio devise a new kind of evil; a text-messaging, do-anything device which controls both mutant and bandicoot minds. Armed with his quick-wits and lightening agility, Crash must free his friends, the titans and save the day!

This time around it is free roaming which I'm not sure about, I preferred the simple going forwards and backwards of the original PSX games with the occasional side scrolling bit. Screens don't look like Wii ones to me, but then we've come to expect that from Activison.

I hope to see something from Telltales Wallace & Gromit game soon.

lol i beat this bleach like a year ago (in japanese). man it takes a long time for them to translate >.<

well thx as usual hadrian

It's not the translation, it's the anime. They didn't release it before because the Dub is way behind and the game would have many spoilers.
Looks a few good games, thanks Hadrian.

I'll be looking forward to Legend of Kage 2 and the DS version of Crash: Mind Over Mutant. The last DS Crash game was sorely overlooked, but it was really fun.

I went to auction at a mom/pops video game store few months ago that was closing, and bought 11 slims for $200, 1 was DOA but 10 work fine. so hella deal. Already rgh3'ed 8 of them. But most younger kids don't even want anymore, unless it plays stupid "fortnight", or newer shit.
