Hacking Worth the upgrade?

Hey all

I'm a newbie to the forums (posting wise) but I have been keeping my eyes on the topics etc for quite some time now. (apologies for not posting and helping out - but my whole technical knowledge is limited).

Just one quick q though - i've been using the backuploader v0.3 for a while now. is it worth upgrading to the gamma v0.3? Why would you recommend this?

the backuploader works great for me (even loads up tatsunoko vs capcom without any probs). just don't want to get hit by those games which have the 002 protection on them.

any help would be fab!

You can have best of both worlds. Use the beta version on something like ios248 and then install the updated gamma version as normal on 249. Gamma has better game compatibility and the new channels on the forum fix alot of the 002 errors. Plus gamma will be keeped upto date with these type of fix's but beta will not. I have both on my system and still have the original wiigator loader on my sd card for use if I want, thsi is on ios247. It doesnt have to be a choice of which one there are ways if you search on here to have all loaders.

I'm gonna sound a little dumb here but I can use both Wiigator's 0.3 beta and Wiigator's Gamma 0.3 too???

Oh btw - does Wiigators Gamma 0.3 have the 002 fix?

the fix is very recent, so it might not be there, but you can find the fix in the forum for sure

I had a stack of backup games which did not work on Wiigator's beta loader and every one worked properly on gamma. Well worth it. Plus the gamma loader blocks game updates if I am not mistaken, so you get an extra dose of protection from accidentally updating. I know not to ever accept game updates, but I want to make sure that nobody else who plays my wii accepts an update request.
