"lets do mario kart 8 again" -shigeru miyamoto, probably
Hi, everyone, welcome to my first-ever review! I decided to review Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because it’s a great game, and a lot of people seem to enjoy it. So, without further ado, let’s-a-go! Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a game released for the Nintendo Switch in 2017 in most of the world, and 2020 in China. This has over 40 tracks, and more with the Booster Course Pass, which I will review later. Mario Kart has spanned generations, however, this one is one of the best. It’s Mario Kart 8, but you can take it portably! There are many modes and sub-modes, from Grand Prix to Battle, and Battle also has six sub-modes!

Verdict

What I Liked ...
  • Fun for the whole family.
  • On a very popular console.
  • Great for modding.
  • New modes and racers.
  • It’s Mario for people who don’t like Mario.
What I Didn't Like ...
  • May ruin friendships.
  • THE BLUE SHELL.
  • BLOOPER.

Gameplay
To start, the controls are sort of complicated. This may be because of the Switch’s 2 controller setup. It can be made simpler with the 1-controller horizontal setup, but that can sort of cramp up your hands. You could make it even simpler, though, by using tilt controls. The controls aren't the only thing gameplay-wise, though. There are also the powerups to talk about. The blooper, personally, makes me RAGE. The blue shell does, too . Thankfully, I can control myself. Also, there are many good tracks. There are even new battle tracks and modes!
7
Presentation
First, there is a very nice UI (User Interface). Also, there are many fan-favorite characters. There are also many kart customizations and combos, including the famous-ish Waluigi+Wild Wiggler+Any Glider combo.
8
Lasting Appeal
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a game that’s meant to be played with your family or friends. It’s meant to be played over and over again. It’s meant to be simple fun with no story, no princess to save. However, it's notorious for ruining friendships.
7.5
out of 10

Overall

This is a decent game because it is good fun, and it doesn't need good visuals or an epic story to be good. On the other hand, it causes a lot of woes and has the potential to ruin friendships. This gets a 7.5 out of 10 overall.

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Imo Bluetooth is always a option of last resort for me
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Except for phones because it tends to be pretty reliable there
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I got a bad habit of taking out usb transmitter and loosing it because they can't you know print names on the damn things
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
But any desktop OS, I've never had anything but frustration trying to get Bluetooth devices to work reliably and stable. It might pair and connect once, and then next time I go to use it I have to delete and re-pair it again
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
5.3 has been so good I think 6 is really going to make it stable

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Double D would be proud
    +1
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Even my Xbox One controller I have it paired to my desktop over Bluetooth, it USUALLY works but sometimes it refuses to connect and I have to delete and re-pair it. Maddening
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Gigabytes built in mobo bt/wifi pairs pretty decent
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
    That's what I'm using :(
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Ran a driver update in device manager?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Not recently but I think it's less a driver issue and more just Windows having a garbage Bluetooth stack
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Could be I was having issues when I first upgraded it and didn't realiser gigabyte has specific driver revisions which is stupid
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Which is married to the boards revision
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Made my first review
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
I've gone years without ever removing a logitech usb transmitter. Across several replacements of keyboards and mice. It just stays put.
