Hello,
I have an NDS Lite with gameyob slot1 and EZ-Flash Omega DE slot2.
After several searches I can't find the patcher version (or the ips patch) of GAMEYOB for the rumble function to work with the EZ-Flash. With goomba slot2 it works well but I prefer to use GAMEYOB.
Someone to help me please?
I have already followed the links in this thread but I did not find :

I've followed threads on GBATemp before but as I'm new I can't post links

When I try to play this hack the game randomly freezes all the time. Super Mario Land 2 DX
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3784/
Via Twilight Menu (DSi)
Any fix ?

Edit
"- Having "autosaving" enabled (as it is by default) can cause lag in some games. You may want to disable this feature; if you do, you will need to exit out of the game before exiting GameYob itself, or you will lose your progress."

Fixed.

There are other issues with that specific hack that render it unstable in the late game (the final boss is particularly unstable)

Here is my DMG1 custom palette (not accurate but not that bad) :

DMG1=25,30,6,21,27,4,14,21,6,0,15,12

@Dartz150
I have a problem with the latest version, on NDSLite when I use the touch screen and while in game, the upper screen is displayed on the lower screen at the same time. The config menu is not really usable on GBC if you have a grey background ingame.

this was an issue i overlooked because i don't use scaled mode, and i changed how the menu renders. it's fixed in v0.5.3b. please check the github's latest releases

The problem is fixed. Thanks !
There is a flickering problem in some games when we use the scaling option. It was already there in previous versions.

You can see it in Super Mario Land 2, walk with Mario few seconds and check the "upper top screen", you will notice it. Without any scale, there is no flickering. Is this fixable ?

Thanks for your hard work

probably not easily, the way the scaling is done is very barebones simply setting the DS's own background layer scaling. which is why it looks very rudimentary. gameyob has no framebuffer concept of the GB screen, it's all blitted straight into the DS's video as if it was the gameboy's own video processor. depending on how you see it this is either a blessing or a curse 😉

:rofl2: Thanks for the explanation mavica. Well, it is not a big deal if it stays like this ;)

On my side, the DSi version has got problems with those High res pictures (or whatever it is called) found in some GBC games such as Aladdin/Donkey Kong Country/Tomb Raider. They are glitched.

Hi. I think there is some issue with v0.5.3-mavica NDS version.
It can't reach my older gameyobds.ini file or save new one.
I have NDS file in root/GB folder
and gameyobds.ini file in root folder
v0.5.2 works OK from root/GB folder for me

Also. Nice work with DSi camera and printer!

It would be nicer, if:
1. target folder for printed images could be specified in gameyobds.ini file
2. any button (R trigger for me would work) could be mapped to switch camera rear / front

Also per game settings would be nice (cause I don't need to have printer or camera switched on in other games permanently)

ini is only used in `_nds` root subfolder now at the request of TWiLightMenu developers. (and you need to have the folder created beforehand for the ini to save) i have not made alternate search paths.

i haven't touched the printer code, that's original by Drenn/Stewmath. changing the folder could be an easy improvement. might look into what it takes to add an input to change an arbitrary setting.

you can also use my gbcamtool (search "mavica gbcamtool" on google since i can't post links) to extract pictures from gameboy camera saves (including from physical cartridges, if you can dump them)
Also per game settings would be nice (cause I don't need to have printer or camera switched on in other games permanently)
the way the settings file is handled right now makes this very hard. it's loaded only at the start of the emulator and the settings change how certain games initialize the gameboy emulator (GBC mode, SGB mode etc). this would take a lot of refactoring i don't think i'll do so soon

Hi. I've tried the v.0.5.2 and v.0.5.3 and neither of them works from the latest TwM in my o2DS. It actually starts and I can change settings but the game never boots. However, it works well via .cia. Has someone else experienced this?

Thanks. Yes. It works. I overlooked this somehow and I didn't have _nds folder created on my cart, cause I didn't need it.

Yes, I have a few options: win98 notebook + GBtransferer2 or Mega Memory Card + EMS64M USB cart.
I've been dumping pictures with GBCameraDump tool till now, but colorization option in your gbcamtool is nice addition.

OK. I understand. It's not a big deal ;)

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
