I keep getting an (-1022) error whenever i try to install certain wads. anyway to fix this, or is the wad file useless?

I can not exactly tell you,what causes this Issue (maybe an missing or incorrect needed cIOS,I do not really know...),but it is known and not unusal.

Does anyone knows if the source code of MMM has ever been release ? I know WiiMod Lite is more trendy nowadays but I feel MMM much more complete and powerfull for power users.

Unfortunately no, source for both mmm and wii mod lite have not been shared, even though technically the devs should have.
WML has a bug I've described in a few places, and mmm doesn't support motion+ remotes, so both have their issues.

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.
The issue is DRM -

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

. Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them.
