Troubleshooting​

• This is a patcher, not a ROM. Please ensure you have an original Japanese language ROM of the game (code 4737) and place it in the same folder as the patcher before attempting to patch.
• The patcher is an .exe file and therefore if you wish to play the patch emulated on your phone, you will need to patch the ROM on a PC first and transfer the patched ROM to your phone.
• There is a readme file with the patcher, you can access it by clicking the speech bubble on the open patcher. Please consult this first.
• We know the patched Japanese ROMs work with DeSMuMe and Drastic emulators. We cannot guarantee they will work on a cart. We cannot help you if they don't work on a cart. We cannot help you if you want to play the game on your phone and you don't have a PC to use the patcher.
• Want to use the patched ROM with TwilightMenuDS but having a problem with AP? Please see this post for a fix courtesy of retrogamefan.

Reporting a problem​

Textbox breaches: If you find an instance where dialogue goes off the edge of the text box and cannot be read, please post a screenshot below. Without knowing the exact lines of text we cannot find it in the bajillion lines of script. No screenshot, no fix.

Typos: Same as above.

SRW/Xenosaga/NamcoXCapcom/Endless Frontier reference errors: Please report where in the game this arises in as much detail as possible, ideally screenshot or reproduction of text as this could be an item list, spirit command etc which all have separate files. We need to know where to find it to fix it.

Technical issues: Please describe the problem in as much detail as you can while also ensuring you've followed/read the troubleshooting tips above.

We are not giving any timeframe for the release of a version 2.0 patcher. We will collate fixes here and at some unspecified point in the future we'll do an update.

The overdrive text in the skill menu appears to be the same for each character. They all say "Attack with Herculean strenght, Power S+." I think that this text is supposed to be different for each character?

Hello, a user requested me to add this game to my cheat databases, along the way I noticed a mistake in your patcher and you guys used a bad dump as a base for this translation patch. You labeled the ROM needed by the number 4737 when it's supposed to be 4738.


Now I will provide information on the dump you guys used for this patch and which base you should use.

In the Fujisakura Tree, just before your first encounter with Hel(a) Gand there's a save point (first image). Whenever you save at the save point the location in the savefile will be in Japanese (second image).

It happens once more in Varna Kanai (third and fourth image), just before you battle Jorm Gand and get Haken.

In the fifth image Katze says "fa ade". I'm assuming facade is the word he means.

After you've defeated Anne and she joins you, you get the option to turn on the power in the tunnels when interacting with a console (sixth image). That text is still in Japanese (sorry for not including an image of the actual text, hopefully someone else can add one).

Also, I noticed you guys translated the demon empire as Formiddheim. In the previous game it was called Formido Heim. Did they change it in this game or have the localisers made a mistake in the first game?

It does work on Drastic but you need to patch on PC first.

I haven't had a response from Hotaru about this yet. So far people haven't had any issues locating a ROM using the code 4737. And nothing reported so far impeding ability to play the game. So I can't answer this for you, sorry.

Is anyone else have trouble getting it to run on Twilightmenu++ on a 3ds? When I try to save it freezes, and if I try to leave the first area, it goes to a black screen. I suspect it might be the AP patch not working. I'm able to get the eng patched game to run through an emulator so it might just be something wrong with my setup of twilight.

First Thing first: Huge thank you for the effort to translate such a big (Text Heavy) Game that is part of my favourite Game Series and that I always wanted to play AND understand whats happening.

Secondly: At the Moment I have a few other games I want to finish before starting this game and invest every free minute into it without getting distracted by other stuff. Should I wait until at least the first Patcher Update is there or are the currently know issues minor enough that it can be safely ignored without missing out on story stuff or risking crashes because of a wrong dump that was patched?
