Hello,

I'm trying to setup USB Loader GX with GamePad support.
From searching around, it seems like I will not be able to use the GamePad with Wii games but that I should be able to use the GamePad to select games.
Here is what I've tried so far:
  • Using TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector, I selected "vWii Nand Title Launcher" with TitleID "UNEO" and "Classic Controller Emulation" selected. After installing and running, the GamePad does not work in USB Loader GX.
  • Using TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector, I injected the latest USB Loader GX .dol file, but the GamePad options are disabled.
  • Using CustomizeMii, I tried to create a non-forwarder wad of the latest version of USB Loader GX, with the plan to use "vWii NAND Title Launcher" with GamePad options. Unfortunately, I could not get USB Loader GX to load at all after installing this wad.
Does anyone know what steps I should take to get Gamepad support in USB Loader GX?
Ultimately, I just want to be able to run Gamecube games from the USB Loader GX interface without needing to use a Wii remote.
If there's a better way (maybe using the GameCube controller adapter?), please let me know.

Thank you!

've been thinking about this, if the Nintendont can do this, just someone do this on the Wii loaders, as well as the USB loader GX, for example, modifying it and adding this option to emulate the controls through it, so the Wiiu Pro controls would work in games both on one real wii as in vwii or inject wiivc for wii u as well as some wii emulators also work the wiiu pro controller as if it were a classic controller like wiistation for example

For this to work, someone would have to develop a loader that emulates the controls like Nintendo does
This is how the gamepad and pro controllers would work, this is the only way thinking about this logic

because these loaders do not originally support gamepad and pro controllers

Had similar issues, i could get usb loader gx to load when using Tencomoon injector but no input from the gamepas registers at all. I managed to get USB Loader to run by injecting the DOL directly, but then there is an issue where every time u close it no matter what your nintendont settings reset. I suspect the issue is something along the lines of this...

VC titles have their own save files, seperate to the emulated memory cards with GX and Nintendont. The VC title, in this case USB Loader GX doesn't have a "save" function because its a loader it would normally just write its settings down to the sd card. Because it is running off the NAND / WIIU USB, it resets the "game" (USB GX) and you lose all of your saves.

Its dissapointing bc USB loader gx works amazing when you load it up in vWII but that gamepad support really is a necessity for me as i dont have compatible controllers otherwise, i doubt anyone considers a regular wiimmote with no motion pllus to be compatible for GC lol

It's like I said, the only way to solve this is for someone to create a new loader for the Wii with the same functions as the Nintendot and also injects tools to inject Wii games to load directly into this loader, so it would even work on pro controllers too.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii

At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?

    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament

maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
