Anyone have experience downgrading a Wii to 3.2? I have a friend who wants to use an action reply but can't because updates removed it's function making it dead weight.

I have two Wii's that don't read discs and are quite beat that I'm using to test this. I bricked the first one even though I thought I got all the steps but here I am.

For the system menu I used the wad RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v289 (3.2u). And for the iOS I used IOS30-64-v2576.

What am I missing? In the end I really just want to be able TK say I've done this and they would like their action replay physically useful.

Would appreciate any help thank you!

I would first try using something like GeckoOS rather than taking a risk with the system menu.

Unless you have bootmii as boot2, it just feels like an unnecessary risk since replacing the system menu removes Priiloader.

I'm currently trying to do this on broken wii consoles. So if it bricks that's fine with me, my end game is just to be able to do this safely once after that I'll never do this again.

AFAIK there's nothing an action replay can do that a softmodded wii cannot. I would suggest doing this instead and staying on 4.1, 4.2 or 4.3.

If u insist on downgrading and are willing to take the risk of bricking, then I suggest u install ios60 v6174 to slot 30 instead of a stock ios30 before installing the 3.2 system menu. And reinstall priiloader immediately afterwards before exiting the hbc. You can get a patched ios60 installed to slot 30 by grabbing the wad from modmii. Start modmii classic, and from the main menu enter 1, then 30, then D, then Y.

Just FYI, an LU64+ Wii (check your serial #) will brick if downgraded too far UNLESS u have ios60 (unstubbed version) installed to the system menu IOS slot (or bootmii boot2)

Thank you very much for the reply. If I'm being dead honest she's being an elitist and just wants to say she can do it. Once I give this a crack I'll reply and let you know how it turns out.

I'm only doing this on Wii's with broken disc drives or other issues so I'm not hurt if they brick.
