The Banner isn't that important, I just edited the text to see if it would work.

QUOTE(ccfman2004 @ Jan 29 2009, 10:44 AM) My guess is since the Arktool was made well before the Wii version of RB2 was released, it was not coded to see Ark files with those names.
Yeah, I guess

The reason I want free DLC is because I do not want to pay for songs I already own at double the price just to play them on rock band, so it is just as legal as getting customs to work

Yeah, sorry, but were still not going to do it. I know I have some of these songs already on the track pack so I know how you feel.

Feel free to try and do it your self, it's not to hard.

This will be done eventually.

The only thing I'd like to program is RB1 song exporter. Shouldn't be that hard, though. Maybe when I finally pass all of my exams :S

It's moving along each day, but we all have lives and my semester right now is pretty crazy (math honors, science honors, English and french

Or no.
We tried replacing disc Songs with other disc songs and this failed, so I'm assuming that dlc on the disc won't work.

I know that each song is made up of 2 .app files. One big one, which contains the .bik, .mid, .pan, a weights.bin and a milo files. I extracted the smaller ones contents and found a preview .moog and the songs.dta file.
The .mogg is encrypted with the standard RB encryption key and can be decrypted with SongCrypt.exe from xorloser. SongCrypt as well as the ArkTools are no longer available from xorloser as he has been threatened with a lawsuit should he not remove those tools.

The question is, will an decrypted version of the preview work?

Once we figure out the bik file, dlc should be rolling, but hey, one step at a time.

The audio data in the .bik file is encrypted, it uses the same type of encryption as before (XTEA) but the process to get the key from the KIBE header hasn't been figured out yet. There are 10 static keys and the byte at position 8 is used to choose one of them, then that key and the rest of the header are used to generate the actual decryption key (I think).
