I used to get around 500k for full download but recently it starts at 500k ish but then settles at around 250k and I have tried on PC and my laptop and have even tried two different wiis but still have the same problem

Both Firefox(latest) and wget are having the same symptoms.

Can anyone give me some advice on this problem?

I get (ret = -10017) through wifi, and usb doesn't work...I don't dare to try SD. But im pretty sure my cIOS is corrupted...I can't uninstall it...idk what to do

check if you are in 3.2, if not, use Custom IOS Downgrader to put your Wii in 3.2, then use IOS Downgrader, and then use AnyTitleDeleter to delete IOS249, then re-install it and give a try to DVD Dumper, tell us how did it go..!!

are you sure you have a cIOS installed, IOS249 more precisely??? maybe you have to do the Oct23rd Fix

I have the ios249 installed but I still get slow speeds over wifi between 200 and 300k.

ok so i can dump over wifi aslong as the connection to my wii and pc are on the same router.
but speeds are kinda slow jumping between 150 and 210kbps.
is this because i'm dumping from wifi to router to wifi?

Is this using a server or is it using the network I am on? I am just wondering if I back up too many of my games that I will go over my bandwidth limit.

I wasnt sure that it was using LAN or not. I was just a little confused on how the whole process worked.

Arent they sending you to a FTP site and thats where you download it from? So wouldnt that not be using the LAN, it would be using the internet. And thats why I think it is using my bandwidth up. Is the wii connecting directly with my computer or am I connecting to a site to download.

no it's LAN I'm positive cuz other ppl can't got to the link cuz the link is only broadcast to the router it is connected to.
so only some one on the LAN can connect to the link.
you can even unplug the internet cable(from net to router not router to pc)and it will still work.

i figured out what my problem was here or well kinda.
it was my Linux distro i was on. i was using Xubuntu 8.04 atm of trying it then i upgraded ad it worked great i also tryed it on my old 7.10 live cd it works fine on them at about 300 and up to 550kbps.
guess my PC doesn't like LTS releases of Ubuntu.

What exactly would one do if they can't get connected to their Wii's IP? I get a page load error in FF when I try.
