SD card corruption will not occur, though if it does, then your SD card may be dying.
For gameboy color, it's either automatically or manually by assigning a hotkey, i think it's "R" by default. (Manual option is used in case the automatic save causes slowdowns).
What issue are you having? If it's not booting, make sure you're starting TWLMenu++ via Unlaunch.

To use Coto's build, open "sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/settings.ini" and add "NEW_SNES_EMU_VER = 1" underneath the "[SRLOADER]" line.
TTMenu? Assuming you meant TWLMenu++, hold SELECT after starting TWLMenu++ (and after the DS splash screen and/or when SELECT is held in the TWLMenu++ splash) to open the settings menu, and switch the theme to either R4 or GBC.
If you don't see it, you may need to take apart the cartridge shell to get to the slot.
It is currently not supported, as DS Download Play only reads the cartridge and not a ROM and/or save file from the SD card.
That makes sense. Thank you! Does local trading work though, and will my Pokemon get flagged by Bank or Home if I trade from a DS ROM into another game? I just realized I can just trade Pokemon from HeartGold into my actual physical copy of Diamond if trading works... it'll be more inefficient, but that's something, at least. I read that PKSM also works, but I'm trying to make my transfers as "legitimate" as possible... it's kind of weird to think that way since I'm using a ROM anyway but still.
