how do i replace the game save with saves on here? and where do I replace them? all i see is f64d878f4b95b7a3ad5fef97ecb4e6ef.nca
You would need to hack your console and run homebrew in order to replace save files. The "saves" that you see on your SD card are not actually save data. Save data is stored internally within the Switch and cannot be accessed under normal means.

Hello, could anyone please help?
I have oled with hwfly v4 (mv1-7 marked on board). I tried to flash chip via hwfly toolbox. Firmware flashed but at verification stage error appeared. Now chip didn't work, switch loads immediately to OFW, no led indication.
Now I want to try to flash chip via USB. The problem that I don't have original USB from my chip since a guy who modded my console didn't return it and I didn't pay attention to it, it was quite long ago. My original USB was micro-usb.
I tried to find such an USB adapter but with no success. But I found usb-c adapter from more modern chip, uv1-7 is written on it. But it is from chip used to mod non oled version. Is it safe to use such an adapter to flash my chip? Or maybe someone can help with a problem - where to find original adapter?

Here to check if a mod switch is the only way to mod a Switch Lite?
all I want to do is get games
You can always get games from the eShop, you don't need to mod the Switch Lite for that. But if you meant "without paying for the games", then yes, by all means, get a modchip for the console and install it. It's the only known way for the Switch Lite.

Here my question as a desperate noob: I accidentally bluescreened my modded switch. After an update, I started to have packages issues, tried various things to fix, and they got worse, so I tried to use a backup, and then I couldn't even run stock. In a desperate attempt, I turned it on without the sd card. Now nothing works at all and I'm losing my mind (if I didn't altrady)

Is there a way (hopefully simple) to transfer games, patches, and DLC that were installed on SXOS over to Atmosphere? Saves, I've been able to take care of no problem with DBI, and games that are just XCI with no updates/DLC can be installed easy enough, but I really don't want to redownload gigabytes of data again to get the little cloud symbol to disappear from the games on Atmospehere. I did that with BOTW, and it's fine now, but I've got other games still not behaving. I think some are XCI that had updates included in the XCI, and I know I have others that I never had on XCI to begin with and just installed/updated from NSPs ages ago and probably don't have the files around anymore, just the game installed on SXOS.
It's not a huge problem to dual boot atmo and sx, but I was just trying to simplify a bit so I can just run everything under one cfw.

unpatched erista
current version: 17.0.1|ams 1.6.2|E
sx os v3.1.0
Atmo is using a file based emunand. SX isn't using any emunand.

Since they are separated nand, only way is to install them manually or use tinfoil shops.

Is it possible use my android phone as external storage connected to my switch? I want to copy files from the phone to the switch SD card but no USB drives show up in Tinfoil.
Any ideas?

Tools section in Hekate. Then USB tools, then SD Card. Connect your phone when it says Waiting for connection.

Quick question. Without staying up to date with the Switch Jailbreaking Scene, how do I know when it's time to update both Hekate and Atmosphere? With the Sysmod-Patch module, will that automatically update the Sig Patches whenever these become available?

Thankfully @Blythe93 was able to inform me of the latest release of both Hektate and Atmosphere when I was in the midst of Jailbreaking my switch. If he hadn't have made me aware of this though, I'd have never known.

The next question is what happens if I don't update both Hekate and Atmosphere? For example, I'm not a hardcore gamer. The same applies with my Jailbroken PS4. I play it whenever I'm in the mood, but I rarely keep updated with the latest news and updates. If I don't update Hekate and Atmosphere, will there be any cause for concern?

For most of the people it's whenever a game that you want to play requires higher firmware. If you've installed some games right now and you think they'll keep you busy, you can skip on updating your setup for as long as you're entertained.

Otherwise, only update your setup to the latest firmware if both Hekate and Atmosphere are updated to support the latest version you're updating to.
With the Sysmod-Patch module, will that automatically update the Sig Patches whenever these become available?
In theory, compared to the sigpatches, sys-patch needs to be updated only whenever something major breaks. I'd advise that you check in either sigpatches or sys-patch thread to see if something major broke with the latest firmware update.

Most of the time, nothing will happen. Games will continue to work as usual, they won't magically stop working after a while.
The only issue might be if developers of Hekate and Atmosphere have found some major bug in their older releases (that you also have on your system) and they've released a fix for that. Still, I believe that most of the major issues were ironed out by now and both of them are pretty stable, so there shouldn't be any concern for the end users like us.

Hello. Looks like I screwed up updating Switch again. Every year or two I do it something goes wrong and all guides miss critical information. Please help.

Wanted to update to v18. Followed the guide to update atmosphrere and hekate. (https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/extras/updating/#updating-your-firmware). I did that, it loaded fine. The portion about updating firmware is confusing here, I just remember using Daybreak in the past so I did it again and updated to v18 using it and then it rebooted but didn't work anymore. I didn't touch files on the dongle as I don't remember if it's necessary and it isn't mentioned anywhere.

First I had error "failed to apply nosigchk". I read it has something to do with sig patches that weren't mentioned in the guide. I googled and probably installed something I shouldn't have. I found a link to sys patches and installed them. Nothing changed, I found another link, this time for sig patches (didn't recognize the difference in names at first). Installed them too.

It looks like it worked but now I get "Panic ocurred while running Atmosphere". Google said I need to delete a folder that mentioned in the error there. I did that, but now I'm getting Error Code: 2001-0123 (0xf601) and walls of texts.

Now I don't know what to do anymore and where to start. I'm running emuNAND and sysNAND loads fine so should be fixable?

Hmm. Deleted another folder in atmosphere/contents (that was mentioned in the error) and now it works

The way they handle update is by updating your sysNAND to the latest, followed by dumping your sysNAND's firmware and installing it via Daybreak on emuNAND. I usually download firmware files from that certain site we aren't allowed to link to and just update via Daybreak, leaving my sysNAND on whatever firmware it was previously on. I'll keep it on lowest possible, just in case another exploit is found that works on firmware I'm at.

As for the dongles, if you have a knock-off, you probably have a somewhat recent version of Hekate's payload which doesn't need to be updated as it checks whether bootloader/update.bin exists on your SD card and, if newer, launches that one. Otherwise, if it's official and if you're using Atmosphere's fusee.bin, you'll need to update that one for it to work.

First I had error "failed to apply nosigchk". I read it has something to do with sig patches that weren't mentioned in the guide. I googled and probably installed something I shouldn't have. It's related to bootloader/patches.ini file from the sigpatches, if I recall correct. It needs to be updated as well.

Outdated sys-module?

Hmm. Deleted another folder in atmosphere/contents (that was mentioned in the error) and now it works
Yep, seems like it. Glad that you've sorted it out. ^^

Anyway, whenever you're about to update your firmware and before you do so, make sure that both Hekate and Atmosphere support the latest firmware or the firmware you're currently updating to. If they do, check if the sigpatches are updated to support the latest firmware and Atmosphere version. Sigpatches also work retroactively, meaning that if you're on a lower versions of firmware and Atmosphere, it should still work properly.

While sigpatches should be enough for game backups to work, you can install sys-patch module as well. Having both sigpatches and sys-patch at the same time should cause no conflict at all, but it's recommended to stick to one that works for you in order to reduce the clutter on your SD card since they are doing the same thing.

If everything seems okay, update Hekate and Atmosphere first, followed by sigpatches. Once you do that, update firmware via Daybreak as well. If you plan to connect to the Internet in order to download additional homebrew among other reasons, make sure that you have either 90DNS or DNS MITM in place.

You can backup and restore your saves with JKSV.

If you have a modded switch and a normal switch and are running into issues trying to update a game on the modded switch would a way of updating the game on the emummc be to do the local transfer update that Switches have? I need to get my Pokemon Briliant Diamond to be 1.3 so I can do a local trade with my Pokemon Shining Pearl.

Needed to be doing it on emummc since I missed the shaymin and darkrai event.

You can do software update match with local users but both systems have to be on the same firmware.
