Hello, I seem to be having a rather strange issue on this Wii U I bought last year. At first, I thought it was unfixable, but then when I learned that De_fuse existed I decided to give it another go.
But, despite everything, I cannot get wafel_install.ipx or wafel_setup_mlc.ipx to work. Even though my soldering is good, and the SD card is getting picked up by the system. @SDIO, is there anything that can be done? You seem to be the authority when it comes to Wii U repairs.

It does the same thing with the latest one from the CDN, and I am indeed using the latest version of both. I also tried using different SD cards, but to no avail. It just does that every single time.

I tried both, separately, but I'm going to close this, in the end it was my three SD cards that were bad. I discovered it after testing them in a fit of despair. Bought a new one locally and it finally worked! So thanks for the help I really appreciate it. It's funny how each time I ask for you I never think of the obvious...

Yeah, I bought them online, on Amazon, I was really surprised. It was also too late to make a dispute so I even lost my money on this one. But anyways, what matters is that after a lot of work and an entire year I was finally able to fix that Wii U. Excuse the late reply, I also work quite a lot and did not see your message.

What brand were these SDs? Can you share a picture of the SDs and how you did test them. h2wtest?

I did not keep a screenshot of the h2wtest sadly. They were Kingston, SanDisk and Lexar 64gb micro SD cards (with one full size).
All I remember is that the files h2wtest wrote got corrupted really fast and the capacity was way below what it was supposed to be.

Always make sure to purchase directly from Amazon, not from a market seller, when purchasing SD cards on the Amazon website. If from a market seller make at least sure it's trustworthy before purchasing. Never had this myself but I even heard fake cards find their way into Amazons own warehouses, so this might also not be a 100% safe way to not get a fake card.

Yea, fake cards for sure (or you where really unlucky getting 3 factory defective cards). No need to debug this more further. ;)

//EDIT²: @SDIO Pictures sadly won't really help, I saw fake cards looking almost 1:1 like the original. Also I heard sometimes they look like original cause they are, these bad sellers just somehow get what the big brands sort out as defective in production (by inspecting their junk maybe?) and sell that. Also pretty sure the OP won't have pictures of i.E. the packaging anymore (or it was Amazon frust free packaging or somthing like that where it won't be shipped inside of the factory packaging anyway).

//EDIT³: Or think about the following scenario @SDIO : Some seller purchases two cards: One expensive, big size and one cheap, small size. Then he hacks the firmware on the FTL of the small size card to show the capacity of the big size card (instructions and tools for how to do this exist on the internet! They exist for a reason...), removes the print telling the capacity from the card, prints the capacity of the big card onto it and exchanges the packaging. Depending on the tools this bad seller would have available you won't notice that except for maybe serial numbers not matching but even that he could just reprint to the card...
